Monty Don breaks silence after being left devastated by death of beloved dog
GARDENERS' World star Monty Don made a post about the show for the first time since being left devastated by the death of his dog.
The TV gardening expert is known to feature his beloved furballs on the BBC programme, and frequently shares photos of his four-legged companions on social media.
Monty, 68, was left heartbroken when one of his Golden Retrievers passed away from cancer just days ago.
He shared a tribute to Nell, adding: "Her end was peaceful and dignified and ended obvious suffering but it never gets any easier to bear.
"So life goes on, but for the moment we are very, very sad."
For the past few days the star has been posting photos of Nell from when she was alive and reminiscing on his memories of her.

But now he appears to be back in work mode as he shared a snap from behind the scenes on Gardeners' World.
The BBC personality revealed a habit the cast and crew behind the show have formed while filming.
He wrote: "Tea break filming Gardeners World today. It has become a ritual to have 10 minutes about 4 ish for a cup of tea in the bus shelter in the Paradise garden. A well- earned break for a brilliant team doing a brilliant job."
