BBC Breakfast in hosting shake up as fan favourite is replaced for second day in a row
BBC Breakfast favourite Carol Kirkwood was missing from screens this morning for the second time this week.
The 61-year-old weather presenter was also absent from the breakfast show yesterday. Her co-star Sarah Keith-Lucas stepped in to replace her both days.
Sarah, 41, joined Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt, who hosted Thursday and Friday’s episodes of the show as usual.
However, the hosting shake up was a shock to fans, and comes less than a week after Carol sparked concerns that her engagement had “gone wrong” as fans spotted her bare left hand during a broadcast last week.
After Carol shared the bad weather forecast last week, one fan took to social media to ask about the missing diamond.
“The red warning is serious. But not as worrying as Carol Kirkwood not wearing her engagement ring on BBC Breakfast this morning. Hope all is OK?” they said.

But after seeing the sparkly rock on her finger again earlier this week, viewers were happily reassured.
“Relieved to see your ring back in place. Thought you had been let down,” another BBC viewer added.
Carol announced her engagement back in May last year, and later confirmed her fiance is Steve Randall, a fitness enthusiast who is thirteen years her junior.
It seems Carol’s absence from the breakfast show isn’t anything for fans to worry about as it comes after Jon Kay was also missing from the red sofa earlier this week, as he enjoyed some time away in Cornwall.

In another presenter shake up, he was replaced by Ben Thompson, who co-hosted the programme with Sally Nugent.
It’s possible Carol is following in Jon’s footsteps and enjoying some holiday time herself ahead of the weekend.
