I cheated on The Weakest Link with a sneaky tactic – my rivals complained to Anne Robinson but she loved it
A DAD who took home £70,000 in winnings after appearing on various game shows has revealed his sneaky tactic to bag first place on The Weakest Link.
Mike Stratton, 55, used more than just his brains to win the general knowledge quiz show.
The dad from Wigan has admitted that he followed other players to the bathroom and convinced them that they would vote for each other.
This social strategy that saw him make it to the top three enraged other players when they realised what he had done.
But when they complained to show host Anne Robinson, she applauded Mike's cunning plan, saying she loved it.
He shared: "I cheated on The Weakest Link. Every time somebody left the room, I went with them.

"I’d say something like, 'I tell you what, they’re going to vote me and you off straight away, aren’t they?'
"So I said, 'I won’t vote for you and you won’t vote for me, yeah?' And I did that all day.
"By the time it came to film the show, there were only two people who I hadn’t done it to."
The other contestants only caught wind of Mike's game when they ended up discussing the show backstage in the green room.

Mike joked that everyone was annoyed at him, adding: "One of the guys in the green room said, 'You hear what he said then? He said before to me if I didn’t vote for him, he wouldn’t vote for me.' Another said the same thing.
"They all went and about me. But she loved it. She came and gave me a hug and everything."
The dad-of-three went on to compete in other game shows such as Bullseye, Beg, Borrow or Steal and Fear Factor.
He eventually earned enough money to get laser eye surgery and IVF treatment.
