Fans were treated to a jam-packed episode with a number of Countryfile presenters dotted around the country.

Strictly winner Hamza Yassin and Ellie Harrison were based in Oxfordshire at Wytham Woods.

Meanwhile, Adam Henson was at the Young Countryside Champion awards in Newport.

As usual, the farming forecast also featured in the episode.

But eagle-eyed viewers picked up on weatherman Chris Fawkes being on presenting duty.

Fans were convinced Beeb bosses had purposely planned for Chris to be on screen as it was Guy Fawkes night.

While Chris fronted the weather as normal, viewers took to social media to comment on the subtle nod to mark the day from show bosses.

One said: "The weatherman on #Countryfile @BBCCountryfile tonight is Chris Fawkes…on Bonfire Night. As far as I can tell, no one’s referenced his notorious/combustible possible ancestor."

A second posted: "Chris Fawkes on Bonfire night is excellent, and a check shirt. A good day indeed."

"Appropriate for Chris Fawkes to present the weather forecast today," said a third.

While a fourth commented: "Fawkes on bonfire night nicely done."
