The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki recreates iconic Diana cover ahead of season six premiere
A CLASSIC photo of Princess Diana that appeared on Vogue’s front cover has been recreated for Netflix drama The Crown.
And the new image — with actress Elizabeth Debicki, 33, in black as the tragic royal — is on the cover of the new Radio Times out today.
Diana’s photo was taken by French snapper Patrick Demarchelier and was to be used on her 1992 biography.
But author Andrew Morton told the Radio Times they eventually went for one by Brit Terence Donovan — after haggling over the fee.
He said: “He wanted £70,000 . . . when the going rate was £500.
"He told us if the price wasn’t met, he would tell the world Diana was involved in the book.

“He had us by the crown jewels.”
Series six of The Crown — which covers Diana’s 1997 death in a Paris car crash — starts on Thursday.
Aussie Debicki was at the LA premiere of the first episode.
Also at Sunday’s event was Meg Bellamy, who plays a young Kate Middleton meeting Prince William at university.
