EastEnders fans baffled as Albie Watts’ real father is revealed – and it’s NOT Keanu Taylor

EASTENDERS fans are baffled after it was revealed Phil Mitchell is the father of Sharon Watts’ son Albie in a bombshell twist.

The hardman - who is played by actor Steve McFadden in the BBC soap - was previously ruled out as Albie’s father after then wife Sharon had a secret DNA test done.

However with Albie being diagnosed with a genetic disease tonight it emerged that Phil must be the toddler’s father.

The doctor explained how the test results revealed Albie has a genetic disease that means both his parents carry it too.

He explained how the AADT gene had to be passed down by both parents and they may not have any symptoms, but to be sure they could do a simple blood test.

Sharon agreed for both of them as Keanu walked in but when the results came back Sharon was in for a shock.

“It’s good news,” the doctor said. 

“Neither of you have any raised levels on your kidney or liver tests. The test results show that you are the carrier of the gene but Mr Taylor you are not.”

Sharon realised what the test results meant - but Keanu had no idea so she sent him out with Albie to go to the vending machine while she spoke to the doctor.

“Maybe the tests are wrong?” Sharon said the minute Keanu was out of earshot.

“It can happen. Can we please do another one? Can we just check?”

“I know that this is a lot to take in but I can assure you we have double checked everything and the tests are correct.

“Does that mean what I think it means?” asked Sharon.

The doctor asked her: “Was there anyone else in the months before your son was born? Someone who could be Albie’s real father?”

But Sharon just turned to see Phil talking to Keanu and Albie outside the office window and looked devastated.

However despite the scene leading to viewers to believe Phil is the dad - fans with long memories recall Sharon doing a DNA test in 2019 which excluded Phil as the father.

So now fans are completely baffled about who is the father of Albie.

One wrote: "Yeahhh Albie ain't Keano's is he."
