Laura Hamilton shares first details of A Place in the Sun spin-off series – with legendary presenter returning to show

Production is already underway on the new episodes

A PLACE in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton has sparked a frenzy among fans after revealing the details of the upcoming spin-off series.

Fans of the Channel 4 show expressed their excitement after the property expert shared information about the forthcoming show on social media.

Channel 4 recently announced they had commissioned two seasons of the A Place in the Sun spin-off series called A Place in the Sun What Happened Next? And TV presenter Laura has spilled the beans about the new show to her 189,000 Instagram followers.

The 41-year-old revealed that she would be the fronting the new show in a post where she is seen sitting on the edge of a marina looking fabulous.

Laura can be seen wearing a tropical print off-the-shoulder top and a pair of cut-off denim jean shorts in the snap as she looks over her shoulder while smiling.

She captioned the post: “Many of you who follow me know that I have been part of the wonderful family that is @aplaceinthesunofficial for the last 12 years.

“It's been the most amazing job for me, I love travel, I love property, and I love people - especially when you can help make their dreams come true. Today, I am excited to announce that.

“After several years of being asked 'What Happened Next', you are about to all find out.”

“Throughout this past year, we have been filming an exciting new series, catching up with the 1000's of people we have helped over the years.”

Laura concluded: “There are 40 episodes coming your way, and I'm so excited for you to see them.”

Production of the show is already on the way, with 20 episodes being filmed in 2023 and another 20 have been commissioned for 2024.

Delighted show viewers rushed to her comments section to complement and congratulate the 41-year-old as one said: “Wow, looking forward to this, great news.”

A second Instagram user added: “Amazing! Look forward to seeing this. Wayne and I have said many times wouldn’t it be good if they come back and see us as we have lots planned for our house. Great idea.”

A third wrote: “You look lovely, Laura and I shall look forward to the new series.”

Another wished: “Hope they will be broadcasted in Sweden soon too. You're doing a great job. Loving it.” 

A fourth echoed: “Fab news really looking forward to watching the new series.”

A fifth expressed: “That'll be a great show ..I've often wondered how it all worked out for people.”

It has also been revealed by show bosses that legendary presenter Amanda Lamb will be returning to the upcoming spin-off series with many other fan-favourite presenters also lined up.

The new show will revisit families and couples who have purchased a property from the show.

Channel 4 has yet to confirm when the show will air.

New episodes of A Place in the Sun air every weekday at 4pm on Channel 4.
