I’m A Celeb star takes a swipe at Nigel Farage within minutes of meeting him
One of his new I'm A Celeb co-stars slammed him years ago online
NIGEL Farage was confronted over Brexit minutes into his I’m A Celebrity debut tonight.
He was caught off guard after being dropped into the scorching Australian Outback to complete a series of challenges on the ITV Show.
Nigel – one of the main politicians behind the UK’s divorce from the EU – was slammed by This Morning host Josie Gibson when they were paired up in a survival task.
She said: “I thought this was a good idea until they dropped us off in the middle of nowhere. I’ve never been so petrified.”
Nigel, 59, replied: “It’s something different in life, it’s an adventure! It’s a challenge, it’s not going to be easy, but why not?”
Josie then went for a swipe and said: “It can’t be worse than Brexit!”
An awkward Nigel laughed: “Oh… didn’t take long did it? Didn’t take long.
“I had a feeling we’d get a bit of that!”
The series kicked off with a huge shake-up.
Instead of arriving in Brisbane on speed boats with champagne and treats, three contestants were thrown straight into the deep end.
Nigel is in for more ribbing on the ITV series, after The Sun told how MasterChef food critic Grace Dent previously blasted him in a series of shocking tweets.
The former politician was previously the leader of Ukip from 2006 to 2009 and again from 2010 to 2016.
He then formed the Brexit Party and was leader from 2019 to 2021.
But the arch-Brexiteer claimed back in May that “Brexit has failed” however said he didn’t think Britain would be “better off remaining in the EU”.
The Sun exclusively revealed he would be taking part in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2023 — and is now plotting his way in to Westminster.
He told us: “As far as a return to politics is concerned, I might be interested in having another go at some point. I would look at this in the longer term.”
In a first look at Nigel in action, the former MEP (member of the European parliament) teams up with TikTok star Nella Rose and Josie Gibson.
The trio are tasked with searching through barrels of disgusting-looking gunge and it’s not long before they’re forced to immerse themselves in it.
It looks like Nigel is definitely put through his paces during the trial, no doubt to the delight of the thousands of people who have already complained to Ofcom about him being on the show.
