In the latest episode of A Place in the Sun, Jean attempted to entice house hunters Natalie and Matt with a property in Fuerteventura, the second largest of Spain's Canary Islands

However, the couple were less than thrilled by the look of the prospective holiday home.

During the episode, viewers watched Natalie and Matt search for their perfect holiday home in the resort of Caleta de Fuste, with a budget of £75,000.

With the property expert's help, the pair were shown various sun-soaked properties, but one home had show fans divided.

Fans were baffled over the couple's reaction to one of the show’s most divisive properties, which they likened to a ‘prison’.

Taking to X(Twitter), some users who watched the episode insisted that the look of the mundane property was enough to put Matt and Natalie off buying it.

One user wrote: “Outside looks like a prison.”

Another agreed: “Wow, that complex really is awful from the outside.”

A third expressed: “These complexes would be my worst nightmare if I was buying a holiday home,” with a grimacing emoji.

Other viewers agreed that the property had an unappealing exterior but claimed it had plenty of space.

Other show fans even slammed Natalie for being too ‘picky’ and “moaning about having too much space”, advising her to “stay in a hotel”.

A second user swiped: “It’s always a bonus for any property imo, [in my opinion] when it 'feels like someone can live here". (sic)

However, the spacious inside was not a selling point for Natalie, who revealed to the TV presenter that space was not a priority for them as they wouldn’t be spending much time at the property throughout the year.

The couple turned down the first two properties, but Jean eventually helped them find the perfect holiday home for themselves, which they secured for the price of £80,850.

A Place in the Sun continues tomorrow on Channel 4 at 3pm.
