BBC Breakfast fans have begged producers to pass a reporter a tissue as he struggled with a runny nose live on air.

Correspondent Tomos Morgan was on location in Dublin to discuss the recent riots with Naga Munchetty.

Yet, viewers found it challenging to focus on the subject at hand, given the distraction of his runny nose.

Throughout the clip, the reporter could be seen using his tongue to lick up his snot multiple times.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Pass that reporter a tissue please !!!"

A second commented: "Poor guy.. runny nose as reporting about Northern Ireland riots..!! Had to lick it up with his tongue.. that was a boggier!!!!"

A third said: "That reporter from Dublin seriously needs a tissue or a longer tongue. That actually made me heave. Why did noone tell him he had snot pouring out of his nose."

The trigger of Thursday's riot was a knife attack outside a school, in which three students were wounded, along with a child-care worker who defended them.

Following the attack, the streets of Dublin were set ablaze by hundreds of marauding thugs and far-right extremists.

Garda cars, buses and Luas carriages were set ablaze by rampaging “lunatic factions” enraged over the stabbing of children in the city.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said in a press conference that the rioters "brought shame on Dublin, brought shame on Ireland and brought shame on their families and themselves".
