Arlene Phillips accuses Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood of undermarking Layton Williams for ‘attention’
EX-Strictly head judge Arlene Phillips has accused Craig Revel Horwood of undermarking Layton Williams.
Arlene, 80, thought the West End performer, 29, deserved a perfect score last weekend.
His couple’s choice with pro partner , 25, to Ain’t No Other Man by Christina Aguilera got 39 out of 40 — with Craig giving nine.
Arlene, who was on the panel between 2004 and 2009, accused him of attention-seeking.
Speaking at the Oldie of the Year Awards, she said: “Craig should have given Layton a 10 last weekend.
"That was one of the most outstanding pieces of dance on television.

"It brought the house down.
“If he gives a 10 when everyone else is giving 10s then nobody will notice so that is why he continues to give 9s.
"When he decides to give a 10 everybody remembers it and it’s news.
"Craig totally knows what he is doing. He plays to his TV persona.”
