On today's BBC Breakfast, co-star Jon Kay asked Sally how training is going with her pro-partner, Graziano Di Prima.

He started by reminding viewers that Sally is "competing" in the Christmas Special, but she interjected: "Not competing, just taking part."

Jon said: "It's a competition!" but she replied in reference to her own skills: "It's so not a competition."

When Jon asked for a training update, she said: "It's hard! I'm really not a dancer so to learn a dance in quite a short space of time is tough."

But she added: "A lot of fun though."

Jon then suggested the Strictly process was "full on" and Sally replied with a whisper: "Yes....I'm not very good."

As she laughed she repeated: "I'm really not very good!"

Jon said he'd seen some training footage and she looked "very good" but shaking her head, Sally countered: "I look like a very tense newsreader, that's what I look like!"

As they laughed, she added: "And that's fine, as that's what I am. So I'm just going to go and enjoy it and do my best, and try very hard not to fall over."

Speaking about her "competitors", she said: "It's nice to go and make friends...and actually they're quite a lot better than me, so it's fine."

Sally will be up against historian Dan Snow, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan, former rugby player Danny Cipriani and actress Tillie Amartey.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
