STRICTLY star Dianne Buswell has shared her disappointment after her and Bobby Brazier's Dirty Dancing error.

The pair tried to emulate Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey's iconic 1987 movie scene that culminated with a lift for the ages.

Unfortunately their salsa's showpiece didn't quite go to plan on the live show.

Bobby, 20, looked unsteady as he raised Dianne aloft, and the Aussie pro flashed a big smile to try and mask the wobble.

Venting on Instagram today, Dianne said: "Gutted the LIFT didn’t go to plan like it had in most rehearsals but I do have to say we took a risk and didn’t play it safe that dance was hard and so iconic that of course there was pressure to do it justice and the feeling of just not quite getting it was a bit low for us.

"HOWEVER Bobby wanted to challenge himself and so did I and that is success and growth in its self... let’s focus on the amazing parts of the dance the fact bobby was leading me around the floor his hips foot work expression and just overall improvement for a guy who started dancing only 11 weeks ago is incredible! Your strength your movement has improved so so much and i’m sure so many people agree.

"We are so excited and grateful to be dancing in the semi finals next week but I also send my love to Nigel and Katya who have been incredible this whole competition."

The honest post was met with an outpouring of support from followers who felt they gave a good account of themselves.

Former show pro James Jordan was overcome with nostalgia as he watched them dance to (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.

He said: "It’s such a difficult lift especially with the added pressure - such a shame but it was a fantastic job of probably the most famous dance in history - gave me goosebumps from the nostalgia."

Despite the minor error, Dianne and Bobby still scored an impressive 34 and didn't finish bottom of the leaderboard.

Anabel Croft and Johannes Radebe were at the foot of the table with 33, while Layton and Nikita topped Musicals Week with the first 40 of the series for their Moulin Rouge inspired Paso Doble.

Earlier in the day Nigel Harman and Katya Jones withdrew from the competition due to injury, meaning all the other remaining dancers will make it through to next week.
