WITH her bubbly personality and great sense of humour, Josie Gibson has fast become one of the UK’s most lovable TV hosts.
The popular presenter revealed on I’m A Celebrity how she felt like she had “landed her dream job”, when she joined the This Morning team.
When did Josie Gibson join This Morning?
Josie Gibson landed the “gig of a lifetime”, when she was given a job on ITV’s flagship show, This Morning.
She got her big break on the show when she was actually on the mid-morning show as an interviewee.
Speaking to the , Josie recalled: “Eamonn [Holmes] was on there.
“He said: ‘I like you, you’re different. Go and send some ideas to the bosses at This Morning.’ And then they gave me a chance, and even though I wasn’t great to begin with, my This Morning lot stuck with me.”
Following this exchange, Josie then joined This Morning in 2019 as one of the show’s competition announcers.
Due to her popularity amongst fans, in 2021 Josie made the switch to being a stand-in presenter on the show.
Speaking about her promotion at the time, she said in a statement: “I’m completely honoured.
“Whenever I’m sitting there hosting the show, I often look around and think ‘how the hell did this happen to me?’”
Josie then wowed This Morning viewers when at the last minute she was called into host the show alongside Holly Willoughby, following Phillip Schofield‘s shock departure.
She went down incredibly well with fans, with many calling for her to be a “full time host”.
Josie has previously revealed how “hard” it was to find TV work after starting out as a reality star.
In the same HuffPost interview she confessed: “I think because of the Big Brother thing, it held me back a bit and nobody wanted to know – and I mean nobody.
“Over two years, I tried and I literally put myself out there. Nobody knows this, but I got into [TV presenting] because I did not stop trying.
“More than 72 people I tried – I had a list of people who I’d asked for a job.”

Josie has become a familiar face on the box, since leaving the Big Brother house all those years ago.
She kicked off her presenting career in 2011, when she became a regular host on Channel 5 show, Ok! TV.
Her other TV stints include appearing on Celebrity Dinner Date, and Channel 4‘s The Jump.
On a number of occasions, Josie has been a guest panelist on ITV’s Loose Women.
In 2023, the popular star won over a whole new legion of fans when she took part in I’m A Celebrity.

Josie first gave the UK a taste of her bubbly personality when she appeared on the last ever Channel 4 series of Big Brother in 2010.
In fact, the nation loved her so much she won the reality show.
Josie entered the 11th series of Big Brother, stealing viewers’ hearts with her down to earth nature.
She also found romance with Australian housemate John James Parton before winning the series with a 77.5 per cent of the viewers’ votes – the highest on record.
The kind-hearted star donated £20K of her £100K to the charity Clic Sargent.
