Beloved BBC News presenter confirms return to screens after nine months off air
BBC NEWSREADER Martine Croxall teased fans on social media about her upcoming TV comeback.
The TV personality was axed from the following an investigation which found that she was ‘breaking impartiality rules’ after she chuckled at the former PM Boris Johnson.
Taking to X(Twitter), Maxine posted a throwback publicity shot of her younger self on a BBC Leicester poster during the start of her career.
Reminiscing on the past, she penned: “I was asked a while ago by @johnofladublin about earlier publicity shots.
“I found this: Cheesy pose and inauthentic auburn-looking hair! @DaveK01 @9amben and @MBallardRadio will remember this iteration.”
A fan of the BBC star reacted to the post and asked when she would return to TV.

The user quizzed: “ Great picture. When are You back on the TV Martine? Your journalism is very much missed. Best wishes.
Martine replied: “2024. Date tbc.”
Other fans of the 54-year-old complemented her looks as one said: “You look very 1980s catalogue photo shoot in that pic!”
Another followed: “This picture, Ms Croxall, only further cements my belief that modelling agencies missed out big time to journalism. Their loss was journalism's gain indeed.”

A third wrote: “If you got it, flaunt it (and you got it)."
Last year October, Martine was taken off air hours after she sparked fury for appearing to laugh at a joke about conservative MP Boris.
During a segment where she discussed the latest front pages for different newspapers, she outright chuckled at a gag about the former PM exiting the Tory leadership race.
In the same programme, she also went on to laugh as journalist Tony Grew mocked Mr Johnson.
It resulted in her apologising to the reporter for chuckling while admitting that she was "probably" breaching the rules.
After her exit from the show, she received a barrage of support from her fans and followers, who were devastated to learn of her departure.
During the summer, Maxine took to X(Twitter) and clarified that she was still employed by the BBC.
The star shared a 28-second video where she said: "Hello, a newsreader is never really off duty, even if they haven't been on screen for a little while.

"I just wanted to clear up one thing, a question I get asked by concerned people almost every day, I am still very much employed by the BBC, and I am intending to be back on air very soon."
She concluded the short clip by picking up a newspaper and expressing that she "needed to keep across all the latest developments" before opening up the broadsheet and reading it.
