ITV bosses ‘on tenterhooks’ amid fears Holly Willoughby will quit Dancing On Ice as pals say she’s ‘in a right state’

HOLLY Willoughby bowed out of presenting This Morning - but will she take to the ice again?

Dancing On Ice’s judging line-up has been confirmed ahead of the latest series, however, Holly Willoughby as a host hasn't been secured.

In previous years, the show has been fronted by Holly and Phillip Schofield.

After Phillip quit both the talent competition and This Morning after it was revealed he had an affair with a much younger male ITV employee, Holly also made the decision to quit the breakfast show.

Now, insiders have revealed that Holly is in a "state" over the decision to return to Dancing On Ice.

They told the : "Holly has got herself in a right state about it."

More on Holly Willoughby

According to the insider, Holly "loves" ITV and is "loyal" to them, but she is still "not sure" if she can do it.

They went on to explain: "Holly doesn't want to let anyone down. It is literally the toughest decision for her."

Holly's unmade decision has apparently left ITV bosses on "tenterhooks", as they prepare for another series of the show.

In October, in a post to Instagram, the 42-year-old TV presenter said "I have to make this decision for me and my family," before quitting This Morning.

Holly wrote: "I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.

"To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much.

"This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we've done together.

"Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive."

Her departure came after she faced a horrific alleged kidnap plot which saw Gavin Plumb, 36, of Essex, accused of contacting a “hitman” in the US and allegedly making a restraint kit as part of a plan to snatch the mum of three.

Now, with Dancing on Ice just weeks away, Ice skating superstars Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are back alongside Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse, who is pregnant with her first child.

Sources had previously said Holly would be back on screens in January, but her silence on the matter leads to the question - will fans see her anytime soon?
