The men would show off any hidden talents they had, as well as playing snippets of interviews where family members talked about their good qualities.

Women had the option to switch their light off if they weren't romantically interested in the gentleman in question.

At the end the bachelor would narrow his choice down to one person who he would take on a televised date to Tenerife.

Paiton Barker has shared how she lucked out and met her long term partner on the reality show in 2018.

However, she did have a trick up her sleeve to try and make sure presenter Paddy McGuiness noticed her.

She told the that when Ryan Lenton came into the studio she whispered she fancied him to the girls beside her.

Paiton added: "I hoped the producers might hear me and then send Paddy over to see my opinion. So I tried that.

"I feel like it did work a little bit, but a lot of the crew said afterwards they had hoped we'd get together. They have people in mind when they cast a show, so they kind of thought that we would go for each other."

Thankfully the landscaper felt the same way about her, and ended up selecting her for the holiday.

Things heated up between the pair during their sun-soaked date, and things only got more serious when they got back to the UK.

The 27-year-old shared: "When we got home we just carried on talking and organised to meet up again.

"We would meet halfway and about a year after the show was filmed I went on holiday with him and his family. At that point we realised things were getting serious and I moved closer.

"We just both put that effort in. We're so similar, we have never had to force anything.

"It's great how everything just falls into place. We made great friends that we still keep in touch with, it was an amazing experience. Ryan's family is so amazing, they're like my family away from home. I couldn't be more grateful for that."
