The sultry 63-year-old had previously confessed to never having laid her hands on the latest must-have kitchen gadget.

But in her BBC Christmas special — set in Amsterdam — she reveals she used one to crisp chicken before adding it to a spicy Indonesian biryani.

Nigella had insisted she prefers to use a traditional oven, adding: “I know nothing of the world of air fryers.”

And in July she wrote on X: “I’ve borrowed one, but have not really come to terms with it yet!”

However, in the hour-long festive show, which airs on Thursday at 8pm, she gushed: “I have a little something extra for my biryani.

“When I cooked the chicken thighs they were skinless and that is because I removed the skin and whopped them at max in the air fryer to make chicken crackling to sprinkle over the top.”

Nigella, who is known for her cheeky innuendos, also teases fans with “Roll up and down until you have a fairly slender log” and “I’ve got my macadamias in my nut-bashing bag.

“We all need an outlet at Christmas.”
