Strictly’s Dianne Buswell cuddles up to her sick dad after flying home to Australia for emotional reunion
The professional dancer revealed her dad's worrying health news last month
STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Dianne Buswell has enjoyed an emotional reunion with her poorly dad after jetting home to Australia.
The professional dancer, 34, hoped straight on a plane the minute the Strictly final had aired and is now back in her father’s arms Down Under.
Dianne revealed to fans last month that her dad Mark had begun chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis.
But due to her Strictly commitments, she has only now been able to fly home to see him for Christmas.
Wasting no time, Dianne and Mark posed for a picture together as they enjoyed cups of coffee and a long overdue catch up in the garden.
Dianne has her hair scraped into a top knot and is wearing a dressing gown in the heartfelt snap.
Posting the photo on Instagram, she said: “and from the concert to having our first morning coffee ❤️ i’m home.”
Dianne – who has been joined in Oz by her boyfriend Joe Sugg – also notes how her dad endearingly refers to the Strictly Come Dancing live shows a ‘concerts’.
Fans are thrilled to see Dianne, who was in this year’s final with Bobby Brazier, back home with her father.
One commented: “The best medicine Mark could get, morning cuddles and coffee with you.”
Another added: “Awww so happy for you Dianne! Enjoy your time back with your family! Sending your dad so much love xx”
A third wrote: “Lovely to see a picture of you and your wonderful dad ❤️❤️❤️.”
And someone else said: “My heart is full! So happy for you Di. Have the most special time ❤️❤️ I know how much this will mean to you. Sending love you guys’ way xxxx.”
Last month, Dianne shared a photo of Mark lying in a hospital bed.
She told her fans he was about to undergo his first round of chemo.
Dianne captioned the shot: “I’m so proud of you, Dad. First round of chemotherapy today!
“I wish I could be there to hold your hand and support you in person, but I do know that I’m making you so proud over here in my concert every week!”
She ended the message by cheering her dad on, sharing: “The Australian nurses and doctors are now very aware of Strictly Come Dancing, as my dad won’t stop talking about it. You can do this, daddy. Go Mark.”
Dianne was flooded with messages of support and encouragement, including one from her close pal and Strictly co-star Amy Dowden.
Amy has had an extremely difficult year following a diagnosis of breast cancer in April and has recently finished chemotherapy herself.
The Welsh dancer replied to Dianne’s post: “Sending all my love to the whole Buswell family!
“Mark, you got this, and soon it’s going to be a distant memory! Roll on 2024, where you will be watching Dianne live in concerts. Thinking of you.”
Dianne and EastEnders actor Bobby were pipped to the Glitterball Trophy by 2023 winners Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.
