‘Best series of all time’ say TV fans as they beg BBC to bring back classic gameshow
The show continues to be celebrated as a cult classic
TV fans have begged BBC bosses to bring back a classic game show after an old clip went viral on social media.
Hole in the Wall was a staple on the telly in the noughties but was axed after just 21 episodes in 2009.

The show, which is based on a Japanese format, saw two teams of celebrities attempting to navigate through approaching holes in a wall to avoid landing in a swimming pool behind.
Dressed in skintight lycra catsuits, the celebrities would use their skills to manoeuvre through the holes unscathed, all in pursuit of a £10,000 prize for the charity of their choice.
Anton du Beke hosted the first series with former cricketer Darren Gough serving as team captain.
The Strictly star returned for the second series as host once again but this time with former rugby player Austin Healey and actor Joe Swash taking the roles as captain.

The popular show ran from 2008 to 2009 but was axed by the BBC after two series.
A BBC source told The Sun: "There's still a lot of affection for Hole In The Wall, but bosses thought it was time to try something else."
Taking to TikTok after the clips resurfaced, a fan commented: "Please bring back this show."
A second said: "Best game show to ever exist."
