BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood ties knot with partner Steve Randall in intimate wedding ceremony
BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood has married her partner in an intimate ceremony earlier this week.
The weather presenter revealed her engagement in 2022 but has remained tight-lipped over their big day until now.
In a huge surprise to fans, 61-year-old Carol revealed the news that she and partner Steve Randall, 48, had tied the knot on Wednesday in Buckinghamshire.
Chatting to Naga Munchetty on BBC Breakfast this morning, Carol shared a slew of images from the big day which showed her wearing a stunning off-the-shoulder white gown with a white bouquet.
Carol said: "It was the most perfect and romantic and intimate wedding.
"We are both so incredibly happy."
She was absent from the show this morning with Naga and her co-host Charlie Stayt saying she was taking a well-earned rest.
Carol took to X - formerly Twitter - after the announcement to break her silence on the union where she thanked her fans for their kind words and messages.
She wrote on the platform: “Thank you so much for all your lovely messages. We had the most perfect day.
“It was a tiny wedding but so romantic and intimate. A day we will never forget.
"We are bursting with happiness. It wasn’t a ‘secret’ wedding, just a private one.”
BBC Weather also shared some photos from the big day saying: "A huge congratulations to our friend and colleague Carol Kirkwood on her wedding to Steve.
"Best wishes from us all!"
Carol met Steve, a divorced policeman, when she was in her 50s and she revealed the pair were engaged while reporting from Chelsea Flower Show in May last year.
Steve, from Hampshire, split from his ex-wife Nichola, mother of the pair's teenage son, in 2017.
Her BBC Breakfast co-stars have been congratulating her including former colleague Dan Walker who posted a sweet message on his Instagram.
He said: "Congratulations to Carol and Steve.
"Steve is one very fortunate gentleman and Carol is the best of us all.
"She is kind, caring, brilliant at her job and a wonderful person to be around.
"I wish them every happiness in their new life together."
Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to congratulate the TV favourite.
One person said: "Many congratulations to you both!
"Wonderful news."
Another person said: "Congratulations on your wedding and enjoy your honeymoon."
And one more commented: "Awww congratulations.
"That dress is sensational you look stunning."
Carol previously revealed they got engaged live on air on BBC Breakfast.
She said she had no idea it was happening and thought it was a joke.
The Inverness-shire star has remained consistently coy about her new hubby and has not disclosed any details about their marriage plans until now.

This is Carol's second marriage following her union to ex-husband Jimmy whom she wed in 1990 before their split in 2008.
