Coronation Street legend QUITS the soap after 13 years on the cobbles – days after two more high profile stars leave
CORONATION Street star Lisa George has sensationally quit the soap.
The actress has played Beth Tinker for 13 years after making her debut in 2011 but has now decided to leave the cobbles.
A source said: “Lisa has been on Corrie for a long time and she’s had some great storylines.
“She’s become a firm fan favourite with her comedy scenes but has had viewers sobbing in heartbreaking plots like Sinead’s death.
“She loves Corrie and it’s in her bones but she feels now is the right time to move on and take on new challenges.”
Actress Lisa is still filming on the soap with her final scenes set to air over the summer.

Brought in as a love interest for Steve McDonald, Beth made an instant impression with fans and a new family was brought in around her.
Beth is married to Kirk Sutherland, and her son Craig is the local police officer, while her beloved niece Sinead died from cervical cancer in 2019.
An insider added: “Beth’s a larger than life character who’s never shied away from a clash.
“Her exit will be as dramatic as she is.”
The news comes after The Sun exclusively revealed Alex Bain had quit the show.
The Simon Barlow actor will leave in an explosive storyline in the summer after 15 years, following the exit of his on-screen father played by Chris Gascoyne.
Chris’s character Peter Barlow quit the cobbles to go sailing around the world after he killed serial killer Stephen Reid.
