However, Megan was forced to defend herself after a recent dish - breaded chicken with tomato and mozzarella with pesto pasta and Parmesan cheese on the side.

First she had to contend with people saying her fiance, 26-year-old footballer Oliver Burke, should cook for her instead.

She hit back after one followers unkindly compared her to a "70s housewife".

Megan, who Towie fans will know does not back down from an argument, insisted: "He does enough for me, I like to cook and make him lovely dinners it gives me pleasure.

"Also I think a woman should cook a man a meal and then he gets the bill when we go out lol."

Megan, who had to contend with one follower calling her dish a "heart attack on a plate" and others complaining about her large portion sizes.

She replied: "I can guarantee the people that troll my posts, about my food and my portions and stuff, do not eat good food. I can imagine they just sit in and eat junk food. It's crazy."

Another follower told her: ''I'm a good 9.5 stone slender ish woman and I love food but I couldn't eat a whole plate of any of the meals on here.

"They look great but no one needs that much on a plate...My partner would struggle".

Megan replied: "What do you expect me to eat? Do you expect me to sit there and literally dish up like a cracker and three strands of spaghetti?

"Because it's just not going to happen and that would be classed as unhealthy.

"What I dish up is healthy. I've always eaten big meals for my dinner and I think any human being should be able to eat a fair sized nice big portion for dinner."

She added: "Different if I'm like scoffing my face throughout the day."

Megan announced in June that she and Oliver, who plays as a forward for Birmingham City, were getting engaged.

She had travelled by boat blindfolded in Montenegro for the proposal, which was captured on film from afar.

It saw the sportsman getting down on one knee in front of a rose petal-covered setting with lettered lights, which spelt out: Marry me.

Megan told fans: "YES YES YES a thousand times YES. You have opened up a world I never thought was possible. I love you Oliver Burke… here’s to forever my future husband."
