Married At First Sight couple spark split rumours as they don’t spend New Years with each other
Peggy admitted she was struggling with his gaming and the long distance between them
MARRIED At First Sight couple Peggy and Georges have sparked split rumours after not spending New Year’s together.
The pair tied the knot on the show last year as part of the E4 experiment and appeared to still be going strong in the lead up to Christmas.
But Georges spent his New Year’s Day surrounded by a gaggle of blonde pals – and Peggy was nowhere to be seen.
Peggy had hinted at issues in the relationship just weeks before – suggesting the distance was hard with Georges living in Farnham and Peggy in Essex.
She also admitted Georges gaming was a bit of a problem.
“We’ve been on quite a journey, it’s a love story. It will be nice to show our children and grandchildren how we met – just watch it on telly,” she laughed.
“Previously I wouldn’t have dated someone who didn’t have a job as I want them to bring something to the table too.
“It’s a partnership and a team.
“The gaming is nearly everyday now too. I’ve been so busy myself, I haven’t let it impact me, I like to make him happy and it makes him happy.
“So for the time being it’s alright.”
She added: “I think the hardest thing on the outside for me is the distance.
“It was nice when we lived together.
“But Georges at the moment can’t afford for us to live together and I think that’s the hardest part at the moment because it’s an hour-and-a-half travel and we’re both so busy and he obviously games.
“I don’t want to just sit in and watch him game all night.”
Viewers had questioned if the couple would last as they watched their journey unfold on TV.
Many suggested they had seen ‘red flags’ from Peggy’s side and her family made no secret of the fact they thought they would split.
