First Dates fans livid as they spot key star on Channel 4 show has been replaced – fuming ‘I can’t believe it!’

FIRST Date fans were left furious after they noticed a MAJOR change in the show.

The new season of the Channel 4 dating series hit the screens on Tuesday, bringing a fresh batch of hopeful daters on a quest for their perfect match.

Fred Sirieix made a highly anticipated visit to a restaurant in Bath, leaving viewers excited to see what awaited them.

But, sharp-eyed fans quickly noticed a significant change in the new series: a different voiceover.

Fans had become accustomed to Brian Protheroe's melodic voice, but the latest episode brought a pleasant surprise with the introduction of a female voice.

Many viewers rushed to X/Twitter to complain about the change in format.

One wrote: "Not a fan of this new voiceover!"

A second complained: "The voice over different… I don’t like it."

A third agreed: "Yes, I don't know why they changed the voiceover!"

A fourth added: "I can’t believe it’s been 10 years First Dates and still going strong and I’m not so sure about the new opening credits or the voice over person or I’m not so keen on the new logo but I’ll get used to it as I love the show."

A fifth fumed: "I don't get why they changed the voiceover!!"

The narrator of First Dates has switched a couple of times since the show began in 2013.

Since 2015, viewers have enjoyed Brian Protheroe's voice as the narrator.

But now, Daisy May has taken over the role of narrating the popular program.

Meanwhile, the latest episode saw Mercedes date a young guy called, Greg - and she left him shocked when she revealed she was an OnlyFans star.

First Dates airs on Channel 4 and is available on its streaming service.
