BBC finally confirms Gladiators reboot launch date – and it’s just days away
The 11-episode series will be hosted by Bradley Walsh and his son Barney, 26
THE highly anticipated launch date for Gladiators has finally been revealed – and there’s just days to go.
Beeb bosses have confirmed the rebooted series will kick off this month in an exciting update.
Gladiators will officially launch on Saturday, January 13th at 5:50pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
The 11-episode series will be hosted by Bradley Walsh and his son Barney, 26.
Viewers will see a new generation of 16 Gladiators introduced on screen.
Bosses have confirmed fan-favourite challenges such as Duel, Hang Tough and the iconic Eliminator will all be back.
Last month The Sun exclusively revealed a first look at the superhuman lineup.
Posing outside BBC HQ in London, they all had to brave the freezing cold in their barely there costumes.
Last year we revealed the new Gladiators were slapped with a sex ban.
As former Olympians and professional sportspeople, the group is said to have agreed to avoid any romance for fear of ruining their performance.
Speaking about hosting the iconic show, The Chase presenter Bradley, 63, said: “Wow! I can’t believe that I’ve been asked to be part of this iconic show.
“I used to sit backstage, or in the audience, every week watching my wife be part of this juggernaut and now I get to co-host a new version of GLADIATORS!!! Saturday night family entertainment at its best…ARE YOU READY ?!“
Meanwhile, Barney added: “Gladiators has been a massive part of our family and it’s an honour to be asked to co-host this iconic show.
“I’m so excited for everyone to see the spectacle, elite athletes and fantastic family entertainment that is GLADIATORS.”
The show originally ran on ITV for eight seasons from 1992 until 2000.
