The day of the new promotional shoot was described as ’emotional’ for the TV star

Holly, 42, was seen looking glam as she beamed next to her friend ahead of the new instalment of the long-running skating show.

Her previous co-host Phillip Schofield, 61, previously left the show and his other roles at ITV after he admitted he lied about a consensual affair with a younger male colleague.

But details surrounding Holly’s huge return to TV on Dancing On Ice after three months off the airwaves have now emerged.

It’s been reported that the blonde beauty and Stephen, 46, met around two weeks ago to have their new promotional pictures taken together in a private London studio.

A source admitted it was an emotional day for Holly and Stephen did not meet the judges who were also pictured.

The panel includes the likes of Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo.

The insider told : “It was quite an emotional day, it felt like the beginnings of a routine after months of being at home and shutting herself off from the outside world.

In the new promotional images, the former This Morning presenter was dressed in a stunning £3,200 Vivienne Westwood gown.

The bold red ensemble was chosen by Holly’s stylist Danielle Whiteman, who is understood to have joined Holly on the shoot.

“Holly has always loved wearing dreamy, princess-style gowns on Dancing On Ice, it was always her time to get really dressed up,” the source added.

The friend added that Holly shared a special reunion with her new co-host – 20-years after they first worked together on the CITV show Ministry of Mayhem – especially due to the last year she had.

‘It really made a difference to Holly’s mindset to know that Stephen would be with her all of the way. It has really made her smile.”

“When you have that much history with someone you feel safe. The last year has been a huge change for her.

“For years and years, Phil was with her and suddenly he was gone. To be working with Stephen again at such a poignant time in her career is special for Holly.”

They added: “Whether she went back to Dancing On Ice was a quandary for Holly, some gentle persuasion from Stephen definitely helped to seal the deal.”
