Gladiators’ Legend reveals outrageous reason he’s forced to wear ‘special’ underwear under skintight costume
Bradley Walsh and his son Barney will host the reboot, which officially kicks off tonight
A GLADIATOR has revealed the special underwear they have to wear while on the show, ahead of its reboot tonight.
The hit programme is back with a new generation of superhumans ready to take on some of its most iconic challenges.
Bradley Walsh and his son Barney will host the reboot, which officially kicks off on Saturday.
Included in the new Gladiator‘s lineup is Matt Morsia, aka Legend – who is literally bursting to get started.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, the Surrey native revealed contestants were offered ‘special’ underwear for their costumes which he was forced to use.
Legend explained: “We had to test out various underwear options so that was an issue at times but the costume is good.
“It feels nice and looks outrageous, I’m very happy with them to be honest.
“I personally do [wear the underwear], I need lots of support, maybe some of the other guys not so much, but for me yeah it was really important.”
He joked: “You can read into that what you will…”
Legend said he enjoyed wearing his blue skimpy outfit on Gladiators, which proudly showed off his impressive 40cm biceps.
He told us: “They’re good to be fair, I’m experienced lycra wearer so I’m happy to wear tight stuff.
“For me they were pretty comfortable.”
Gladiator bosses have confirmed fan-favourite challenges such as Duel, Hang Tough and the iconic Eliminator will all be back for the reboot.
The show originally ran on ITV for eight seasons from 1992 until 2000.
Gladiators returns tonight from 5:50pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
