Real reason Love Island All Stars can’t fake relationships for fame revealed by top ITV boss

This year's line-up know the game very well, but will that help them?

LOVE Island stars can’t fake their relationships because they are constantly being monitored, according to the show’s boss.

Exec producer Mike Spencer insisted that even though this years stars know the game very well, it’s almost impossible to hide anything because there is round the clock care – and the viewers are very savvy.

In just a matter of days, twelve famous faces will be entering the villa in South Africa for a second chance at love, but Mike doesn’t think being on it before will give them an advantage.

Asked if people could fake it, he explained: “It's just so hard to. There's like 73 cameras around this villa and they are being monitored 24 hours a day.

“Welfare are even checking how much water they drink or whether they have sun cream on, so all eyes are on them. You can’t hide.

“So if you're going to fake it by three or four days in, your mask has slipped. So I don't think you can here. I really don't think you can.”

He added:  “And if you do, I think the audience can tell and that reflects in  the public vote.”

Georgia Steel, 25, Liberty Poole, 24, Kaz Kamwi and Georgia Harrison, both 29, have all now flown to South Africa to start filming the new series which launches next Monday on ITV1.

Former waitress Liberty is in for a shock as her ex-boyfriend Jake Cornish, 26, who paired up with her back in 2021, has also joined the line-up.

The water engineer was favourite to win with Liberty but his chances were scuppered when she walked out after realising he was not the man for her. They will join Chris Taylor, 33, who was best known for dating ex-islander Maura Higgins, in the villa.

He appeared on Love Island five years ago and last year secured a small role in the movie Barbie.

Scotsman Anton Danyluk, 29, who was in the same series, has also signed up to return along with former gas engineer Mitch Taylor, 26.

He was dubbed "Messy Mitch" after getting into an awkward love triangle before the end of last year's series.

Winter 2020 star Demi Jones, 25, went into her series as a bombshell but has been secured by ITV as one of this show's main cast.

She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after leaving in 2020 but was given the all clear a year later.

Luis Morrison, 29, and Hannah Elizabeth, 33, first appeared on Love Island in 2015. Hannah won the show with her partner Jon Clark but the couple split up not long after.

Former footballer Luis and villa partner Cally Jane Beech became the first Love Island couple to have a baby after leaving the show.

Finally, 2021 contestant Toby Aromolaran, 24, is also back for a taste of the action. He came second in his series alongside his thenpartner Chloe Burrows.
