‘Please stop!’ beg EastEnders fans as they rip into character’s ‘weird and annoying’ nickname

EASTENDERS fans have begged a character to stop using a 'weird and annoying' nickname.

Penny Branning returned to Walford at New Year's in a chaotic fashion, having planted drugs on her cousin Lauren which lead to her arrest.

The character - played by Kitty Castledine - has been staying with dad Jack Branning and her relatives since her return, but has had a few run ins with her father over her actions.

While the pair have now made amends following Lauren's release from custody, EastEnders viewers have become annoyed by the nickname Penny has given her dad.

Taking to X - formerly Twitter - one wrote: "Big man Jack' is not cute. It’s a really weird name to give your own dad. #EastEnders."

Another added: "Nah Penny is f****** annoying with that "big man jack" thing like what is that please gerra out."

A third tweeted: "Penny, PLEASE stop calling your own father 'Big Man Jack'... #EastEnders."

Meanwhile a fourth raged: "'Big Man Jack' is what Jack would call his c**k. Hella weird that his own daughter is calling him that #EastEnders".

When Penny first returned, EastEnders viewers spotted a blunder.

The New Year's Day episode saw Lauren still in France, staying with her cousin in Paris.

However, viewers were distracted by Penny as they believed she should have a French accent after living there for most of her life.

Taking to social media, one viewer said: "Would Penny not have a French accent?"

Another wrote: "Penny’s French sounds like an English accent."
