Her son has now hit out and issue a ‘chilling threat’ to Sofia and the team

Noted as the first female criminal billionaire, Griselda‘s active role saw her hold a “reign of terror” amid Miami’s drugs scandal in the 70s and 80s.

However, the son of the criminal, Michael Corleone Blanco, has branded the show ‘disrespectful’ and told how Sofia and the team “wouldn’t have got away with it,” if his mother were still alive.

In an exclusive interview with , he confessed how Netflix refused his help to consult and advise on the programme which was made without any involvement from any of Griselda’s family.

He also hit out at the show for portraying his mother as “ugly” after America’s Got Talent judge Sofia had to undergo two hours worth of prosthetics in order to transform into Griselda.

Furious at the show and its depictions of what went on, Michael told the publication: “My mother was a beautiful woman and it’s crazy that a lot of people say ‘No, you’ve got to look more like a drug addict’… The fact that they call her ‘ugly’ that really offends me.

“People see the mug shots and just go from that, but when you read my book, you’ll see that my mother was called the porcelain doll in her youth.”

He continued: “Mayors, governors and politicians in different countries would try to court my mother…even here in the United States.

“She was the crème de la crème.”

He went on to brand his mother as “a queen” amid the “disrespectful” portrayal of her and her story.

Michael continued: “All I have to say is that if my mother was alive, she wouldn’t have got away with it.”

He also added that Sofia’s heritage as a Colombian woman was a “slap in the face,” raging: “It’s such a slap in the face knowing that we come from the same land, that we come from the same culture.

“No matter what, you need to respect my mother enough to seek the consultation of our youngest son – her best friend that visited her five times a week during her 23 years incarceration.

“Not only is it a slap in my face, it is a slap in the face of my ancestors, that she would do such a thing.

“No matter where you are now, or how elite, it’s in the Colombian way.”

Michael’s lawyer, Elysa Galloway, also confirmed to the Daily Mail that the team behind the show had rejected any input from Micheal to make the show as accurate as possible.

He said: “Sofia Vergara did not consult with any members of the Blanco family as a sign of respect or elicit family details in portraying Griselda.

“When Michael learned of the Griselda project, we reached out to Sofia’s camp and offered Michael’s consultation services.

“They extended an invitation for us to sit with them to tell us there was no room on the project.

“Sofia’s camp and the Netflix creators were disrespectful and ultimately produced the Griselda project on their own for commercial gain, without key details from the Blanco family.”
