Yet early birds who tuned into BBC Breakfast from 6am today were instead met by Charlie and Rachel Burden, 49.

It came after two major show stars - including Naga, 48, and weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, 63, - were missing on Friday.

Rachel, who often fronts Sunday episodes with Roger Johnson, delighted her new co-star with pictures of winter snowdrops from her garden, which were then featured on the weather section.

She added a splash of sunshine herself, donning a yellow blouse and black trousers.

Show stalwart Charlie, meanwhile, appeared his usual smart self with a grey suit and silver tie.

They also shone the spotlight on Holocaust Memorial Day as well as The Traitors final.

Naga was also absent on Thursday with fans left confused as to the reason for her no show.

Nina Warhurst took her place on Thursday, while Rachel again was entrusted with hosting duties yesterday.

Earlier this month, popular show anchor Naga clarified her position on the daily programme.

Her words followed the revelation she had taken on a different broadcasting role away from the early-morning programme.

She joined the broadcaster back in 2010, taking up her role on the programme's iconic red sofa four years later.

During a discussion about false job adverts, she admitted: "I have had them, and block," making a brush-away gesture with her hand.

She continued: "You're [the scammers] completely confused because I'm not in the market looking for another job at the moment in time."

The ex Strictly Come Dancing star recently revealed her new guest host gig on Have I Got News For You - which saw her swap her early morning starts for late nights.

Back in 2023, a new series of her gritty show Claimed and Shamed was also confirmed.
