WHEN it comes to pie making, Paul Bowen is at the top of his game.

However he is now taking on a new challenge as one of the 18 candidates taking part in The Apprentice 2024.

Who is Paul Bowen from The Apprentice?

Speaking about why he should win the £250K investment from Lord Alan Sugar, Paul told the BBC: "I’m seeking investment of Lord Sugar’s time and knowledge.

"I have great ideas and great business acumen, along with a work hard attitude.

"My organisation and planning is my weakness.

"But with Lord Sugar’s strategy and my passion and ideas, I could make him Lord of the Pies."

What does Paul Bowen do for a living?

Founded in Adlington in 1994, Bowen Pies now has three stores across Chorley and has launched a home delivery service too.

Speaking about his biggest business achievement, Paul told the BBC: "Securing a deal with Manchester City Football Club and supplying them with pies for the past five years."

Asked if he has ever failed in business, he replied: "I’ve only failed in small ways, as that’s the only way to see what works.

"My biggest failure personally has been with the stock market.

"Let’s just say I won’t be swapping pies for shares any time soon!"

Does Paul Bowen have any hobbies?

Paul revealed how he has a passion for bikes, and it's a hobby he takes very seriously.

Speaking to the BBC, he said: "I’ve raced in British Motocross, road bikes and recently been riding speedway at a semi-professional level."

Paul added: "I’m bike mad!"

When is The Apprentice on?

The eighteenth series The Apprentice will kick off on February 1, 2024 on BBC One and the iPlayer.

Lord Alan Sugar once again resides over the show, with the help of his aides Karren Brady and Tim Campbell.

Fans will be treated to 12 brand new episodes, with the show set to run every Thursday at 9pm , until April 18, 2024.

Speaking about the new series, Lord Sugar said: "Well, I'm very pleased with this series because the quality of the candidates that we have attracted this year is superb, I have to say.

"This year, we've got a lot to work with."

While Karren added: "I think it's probably the most highly qualified set of candidates we've ever had. Pharmacist, dentist, some already successful business owners.

"I think from that point of view, the standard is really very high, but with high standard and high achievers comes high ego!"
