‘Give it a rest!’ fume BBC Breakfast viewers as they demand show segment is permanently axed
Jon, 53, and Sally, 52, brought viewers the latest news from across the country while Carol Kirkwood was on weather duties
BBC BREAKFAST fans have demanded a show segment is permanently axed as they fumed ‘give it a rest!’
The flagship programme continued this morning as Jon Kay and Sally Nugent presented from the iconic red sofa.
Jon, 53, and Sally, 52, brought viewers the latest news from across the country while Carol Kirkwood was on weather duties.
Meanwhile, the hosts welcomed the winner of The Traitors series two to the studio for a sit down.
Harry Clark joined the pair after scooping over £95,000 on the smash hit BBC reality show.
However, BBC Breakfast fans at home appeared disinterested in the segment and demanded the news they had tuned in for.
Taking to social media, one viewer said: “Please stop with this traitors crap , It isn’t news and you are banging on about it everyday because it’s a BBC funded series.”
A second fumed: “Their talking about #Traitors on #BBCBreakfast but I have no interest in it at all.”
“For gods sake will you give over with this s***e , its total b*****, constant daily frigging updates which no one cares about,” rage a third.
While a fourth commented: “#TheTraitorsUK again? Give it a rest #BBCBreakfast. Isn’t there anything else you can talk about?”
The Sun recently revealed how Beeb bosses are planning a celebrity version of The Traitors after hit ratings.
Among the names likely to be a target are Wagatha Christie rivals Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, cheating former Health Secretary Matt Hancock and outspoken Match of the Day host Gary Lineker.
A TV insider said: “Bosses want big names as the show is getting big viewing figures, and they know they’ll have plenty to choose from as The Traitors has huge fans within the showbiz world.
“But they also want stars who are likely to be great game-players and who have great survival skills, the ability to double-cross or a way of sniffing out a back-stabber.
“Rumours of a celebrity series have naturally swirled since The Traitors launched in 2022 and the show became an instant hit — but they have been unfounded gossip until now.”
The Traitors is available now on iPlayer while BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
