An onlooker in Los Angeles said: “Leo was seen rushing to a pay phone outside a local market.

“He’s seen scrambling around, outside the grocery store, using a payphone, acting all paranoid.”

Leo, 49, is rumoured to have signed to a film version of 1990 novel Vineland, and some claim his look is the same as its character Zoyd Wheeler.

Paul Thomas Anderson is said to be directing the film which has the codename BC Project.

Meanwhile, last month Leo was seen stepping out with model Vittoria Ceretti in Paris.

Leo’s date with Vittoria cames after the pair were seen kissing and partying in Ibiza in August and later spotted in California.

His love of young women and habit of dumping them in their mid-20s has become the talk of Tinseltown.

Comedian Kenan Thompson, 45, made a joke at Leo’s expense while hosting the 2022 Emmy Awards.
