Coronation Street’s Simon Barlow turns violent as he hits the booze again

CORONATION Street’s Simon Barlow has turned violent again with mum Leanne Battersby after hitting the booze again.

The waster son of Peter Barlow - who is played by actor Alex Bain in the ITV soap - was caught stealing beers from the Bistro by Nick and Leanne and sent home.

But instead he went to the Rovers and got increasingly more drunk as the day went on.

Even when Daisy tried to cut him off, Jenny insisted he carry on - for her profits - and got him to order a hot pot too.

By the time he he had been cut off, he tried to take more from behind the bar before passing out in a booth.

Jenny and Daisy summoned his mum Leanne to take him home but Simon was in no mood to comply.

“I haven’t got a home to go to,” he said.

“Nick’s already trying to get shut of me and my dad walked out on me without saying goodbye.”

As she tried to help him up and out, Simon told her to get off him and lashed out, smashing a pint glass in the process.

“I’m really sorry,” said Leanne as she raced after him.

However the scenes had eerie echoes of when Simon was physically abusive to Leanne as a teenager.

The Sun exclusively revealed how actor Alex Bain had quit the soap.

He will leave his role this summer in an explosive storyline - but will Simon’s drinking be involved? 

And will his violence escalate again?
