As the Monarch cancels all public-facing Royal duties and starts treatment, rolling news channels have been keeping viewers updated on his health.

However, one Sky News journalist make a huge error as she reported on the developing situation.

The broadcaster's US correspondent Martha Kelner joined anchor Sophy Ridge to discuss Prince Harry returning to the UK to be with his father.

Speaking from Los Angeles, Martha said: "We know that King Charles told all of his five children personally about his diagnosis that of course included the Duke of Sussex despite the fact that the pair, it's no secret to say, have a very strained relationship at the moment."

Viewers quickly noticed how the correspondent said the King had five children, when in fact he has two - Harry and William, Prince of Wales.

Speaking about Harry, she then continued: "They [Harry and Meghan Markle] were due to be in Vancouver to mark a year to go to the Invictus Games which is an event for wounded, injured, service men and women that King Harry has been a long-time advocate for."

Martha's on air blunders resulted in scathing reviews from Sky News viewers who flooded social media with their reactions.

One said: "SkyNews going full Phil Space on the King's illness. One reporter just said the King had spoken to all five of his children and then said 'King' Harry would be coming to the UK soon. Take a deep breath people."

A second joked: "There may be an opening on Sky News for a US Correspondent who knows her stuff."

A third said: "Ha Ha Ha Sky News' US correspondent Martha Kilner just said King Charles 'told all five of his children, including the Duke of Sussex."

But a fourth defended Martha and commented: "I think grandchildren is probably what was meant."
