BUGGED OUT

The Masked Singer fans work out who Cricket really is – and it’s ‘not Lemar’

A huge 80s superstar and a theatre actress was unmasked in a double elimination last night

THE Masked Singer fans have done a U-turn after Saturday night’s show – as they come to the conclusion that Cricket is not Lemar.

Viewers have been trying to guess the identity of the insect since they made their debut on the new series of the guessing game.

After weeks of fans being convinced that singer-songwriter Lemar, 45, was behind the mask, many have now been left doubtful.

Cricket belted out Harry Styles‘ hit track As It Was, as fans were quick to recognise the voice.

Along with a string of new clues, which included the word “justice” and “heartbreak” and hints to seven number one songs, or top 10 hits.

While the mystery person also mentioned a red wig and being runner up.

Many fans think the new clues could be linked to Blue pop star Simon Webbe, 45.

Past clues also included the words ‘All Rise’, which is a hint to the boy band’s 2001 hit track.

One wrote: “Thought Cricket was Lemar, now after the clues earlier I’m thinking Simon Webbe.”

A second posted: “It’s definitely Simon Webbe, you can’t tell me otherwise.”

“Personally think from the clues it’s ‘Simon Webbe’ from Blue who is Cricket,” a third commented.

A fourth echoed: “I’m still not convinced Cricket is Lemar. I’m still punting on Simon from Blue.”

Eiffel Tower being unmasked as 80s superstar Tiffany on The Masked Singer

Last night there was a double elimination.

Fans were shocked as Eiffel Tower was revealed as 80s superstar Tiffany, full name Tiffany Darwish.

But instead of re-singing a track, Tiffany sang her number one hit I Think We’re Alone Now after being asked by judging panellist Jonathan Ross on Saturday night’s episode.

Meanwhile American actress and singer Keala Settle has been revealed as a contestant too.

The 48-year-old theatre star told the judges that they did not make “many close” guesses, even though one of the hints pointed to her Golden Globe win for the musical The Greatest Showman.

When she was unmasked as Air Fryer on Saturday’s semi-final, Settle said she was “pleased and privileged to be able to do it” and there had been no physical difficulty with her square-style outfit.

Settle said: “You have this facade that you’re used to, you know, performing, being that person, and when this is off? That’s off, this is what they’re looking for.

“It was a massive learning experience and it was a game changer.”
