The Voice’s TWO new judges revealed as huge boyband stars who’ll work together on show
And a top female singer is replacing Anne-Marie
MCFLY stars Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher have signed up as The Voice UK’s final coaches – and the show’s first ever judging duo.
The lads replace Olly Murs on the panel and will sit on a brand new spinning double-chair.
Danny has coached on The Voice Kids for seven series but has made the leap to the adult show, hot on the heels of his win on The Masked Singer as Piranha on Saturday night.
With McFly, they have amassed billions of record sales and are talented songwriters as well as performers.
Danny and Tom will sit alongside country superstar LeAnn Rimes, who has officially now signed up to replace Anne-Marie, whilst Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am remain.
The duo said about their new job: “To be making The Voice UK history as the first ever double chair combo is going to be epic and we’re both ready for the challenge.
“And of course, we couldn’t ask to be in greater company than our fellow Voice family members Emma, Will, Sir Tom and LeAnn.
“Roll on the talent.”
It comes after The Sun revealed last weekend that for the first time ITV bosses had hired a pair for the empty chair.
A source said: “This marks an exciting new change for the show that will shake up the format and keep it fresh as it moves into a new era.
“Having a famous duo is an exciting new concept which means the coaches will be able to support more groups who audition.
“Of course Tom and Danny have great chemistry and are brilliant entertainment but also offer huge value as coaches to our contenders, they have so much knowledge.”
Filming begins this weekend.
Tom and Danny’s fellow panel member LeAnn also shared her delight at landing the new judge role.
LeAnn said: “I’m truly excited and grateful to take on the role of coach on The Voice UK and to be joining an epic panel of coaches.
“Being able to work with and nurture emerging, vibrant talent in the UK represents a new chapter of my heart felt connection with the wonderful fans I’ve had deep ties with for decades.
“I’m looking forward to offering my heart and guidance, sharing what I’ve learned through my own musical journey, and discovering the extraordinary talent that the UK is renowned for.”
While longstanding judge Will.i.am added: “We are switching it up with three new Coaches and a twist to our Red Chair seating, welcoming the youngest-ever GRAMMY Award-winner (Best New Artist/solo at 14 years old) LeAnn Rimes, and the amazing Danny Jones and his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher.
“And it’s an honour to be teaming up for the 12th time with national treasure and musician extraordinaire Sir Tom Jones.”
TV favourite and host Emma Willis said the new judges will be a great addition to the show.
Emma shared: “I always love getting back to The Voice, reuniting with Sir Tom and will.i.am, and everyone who works on the show is always great.
“And this year we’re welcoming some brilliant new coaches to the family.
“Danny’s no stranger to the Voice, so it’s great to have him back in the red chair but this time with his McFly band member (and my mate) Tom Fletcher – I love the idea of a double chair, and Tom and Danny are the perfect fit.
“And adding LeAnn Rimes to the mix, with her wealth of knowledge and expertise is very exciting. Roll on the auditions!”
Last year we revealed that Olly and Anne-Marie had been given the boot as ITV worked to give the show a fresher feel.
Some 5.4million viewers watched Danny’s big win on The Masked Singer.
