MARRIED At First Sight star Georges Berthonneau slammed last night's reunion show and claimed parts of it were fake.

The groom, whose relationship with co-star Peggy Lawrence recently came to a surprise end, gave his thoughts on the programme ahead of it airing in a fan Q&A.

One person asked if he was looking forward to the cast get together, which was filmed back in November.

He bluntly replied "no", before adding: "Because we were probably a week away from the end of the show so people kind of knew how they'd been edited and stuff and tried to self edit themselves."

"Obviously we all knew about Matt [Pilmoor] and Shona [Manderson] being together. I'm pretty sure in the scene when they walk in I'm just pouring myself a drink. It was mental.

"You could really see people trying to give themselves a different narrative. I'm glad people can play up to the cameras."

Matt and Shona began the experiment with different partners and didn't announce their relationship until the series had concluded, though had been dating behind the scenes for months.

Having overcome her passionate but toxic relationship with model Brad Skelly, who was removed from the show for controlling behaviour, Shona recently admitted she's keen to take her romance with Matt to the next level.

She told : “Yeah, we’ve spoken about getting married. Matt has said he will wear a kilt because my family are Scottish.

"We would get married here in the UK and have an amazing honeymoon, maybe in Bali. We’ve spoken about engagement rings, we just need the money first.”

The new couple also shared they were looking ahead to starting a family, admitting it could happen in the “next few years”.

“It’s mental, but when you know, you know, and it just works. And it can move at a healthy pace. I don’t even feel scared about anything.”

MAFS star Peggy brands ex Georges 'a liar' and snubs reunion

Meanwhile Georges told his followers that he was moving on from his bitter split with Peggy.

He said: "Right now, for me, it's about healing. I'm feeling better every day."

There has been a messy falling out since the news became public with accusations of infidelity levelled at Georges, which he has vigorously denied.

Peggy, who says she went on the programme to find true love,  announced their split on Valentine’s Day and things quickly turned sour between the pair online.

In an explosive interview with The Sun, Peggy hit out at her ex after their relationship came crumbling down – and insisted it was his decision to split.

She said: “George ended things with me on the 30th January so for him to come out and say he was blindsided by my Instagram post is a load of rubbish.

"I wasn’t going to say anything about what he put me through but enough is enough and everyone deserves to know the truth.

“I never wanted to do a story about our relationship. I wanted to remain dignified but after he made up all that rubbish about me, I just want everyone to know the truth. I was heartbroken.”
