The upcoming American drama film also features huge megastars - including Castaway actor Tom Hanks and The Haunting In Venice actress Kelly Reilly.

Mo, 41, took to social media on Thursday to announce the exiting news.

He shared a photo of him dressed in a regal costume and a snap of him in his dressing room before his fitting.

The former Walford star then posted a picture of the cast and wrote: "In good company."

He captioned the announcement: "I got the part after my first Hollywood film audition.

"The American film makers were the ones who offered me a chance.

"This year, see your boy on the silver screen. I’m here because he’s up there."

The movie is based on the graphic novel of the same name by author Richard McGuire.

It also stars Robin Wright and Paul Bettany and is set to be released later this year.

Set in one single room, the film follows the many people who inhabit it over years and years, from the past to the future.

Mohammed first made his debut on the BBC soap 22 years ago.

He soon became a fan favourite as he fell in love with Sonia Fowler (Natalie Jackson).

Other storylines included the infamous feud with Sean Slater (Robert Kazinsky) which had viewers gripped.

In a horrific twist, Sean threatened to kill Gus and tricked him into believing he had killed and eaten Wellard the dog.

Then Gus was left heartbroken after he caught his partner Keisha (Suzie McGrath) in bed with Sean.

He left Walford in 2006 after he exposed Sean as a cocaine dealer in an epic exit.

Since leaving Albert Square, Mohammed has become a full-time DJ playing in clubs across the UK.
