What is the latest with Zara McDermott?
In March 2024, Zara McDermott revealed she has a stress fracture in her tibia.
Despite cutting back on strenuous activity, her doctors say it is getting worse.
To help her leg finally heal, medics have advised that she could require metal screws and plates inserted.
Alongside a photo of her reflection in a hospital lift, Zara reached out to her army of followers for help and advice.

She wrote on Instagram: "So I have quite a significant stress fracture in my tibia that isn't healing.
"It stretches pretty much the entire width of my bone.
I'm just weighing up whether to crack on and go ahead with the surgery or wait and hope that it starts to heal on its own

"The professor who operated on me back in December has advised that I am likely to need further surgery where they put metal screws and plates above and below the fractured area to fuse it together."
Zara is hoping someone else who has experienced a stress fracture in their tibia can help her, as she is struggling to find information about her condition online.

"How long were you off your feet for? How bad was it? I have lots of questions!" she added.
Zara went on: "I'm just weighing up whether to crack on and go ahead with the surgery or wait and hope that it starts to heal on its own.
"If it doesn't, then I will need to have surgery in 3-6 months anyway.
"Basically, either way I need to limit my movement for the next few months regardless of surgery or not; so I don't know whether I should just go ahead and get it done. "
What procedure did Zara McDormott recently have?
Zara, 27, was back in hospital on March 6, 2024 for a CT scan — having previously revealed she'd had an operation.
After taking to social media, she said she is suffering with one of her legs and could need further surgery.
Zara said the CT scan was required to check for "calcium deposits", which would indicate healing.
"But in short, I've been getting MRI scans and it's getting progressively worse despite me not doing any strenuous activities," she admitted.
"I was told you could move around with a stress fracture but I've been in a lot of pain, thinking that perhaps it was normal. Turns out it's been worsening!"
Why was Zara McDormott in hospital in December?
After sharing a selfie that was snapped in hospital, Zara first hinted that something was wrong medically in December 2023.
Her admission to hospital came two days after she returned to the Strictly dance floor for the show's final on December 16, 2023.
The former Love Island star had the procedure done before Christmas — but left fans in the dark over the reason for the op.
Zara, who is in a long-term relationship with Sam Thompson, was in pink pyjamas sat in a hospital bed with a cannula in her arm and a ID wristband around her arm.
"Had a little procedure done yesterday!" she wrote cryptically. "Now ready for a super chilled Xmas."
In January 2024, she told fans how she only had three toenails after losing them in the competition.
Sharing a reel of her highlights of 2023, Zara said it had been the "best year of her life".
Listing her accomplishments and experiences, she went on to gush over Strictly.
"I pretty much landed from Ibiza and went straight into Strictly, a show I never dreamed I’d get the opportunity to be a part of.
"I am so incredibly grateful to the team for choosing me to be a part of the series you know who you are, and I love you as a die-hard Strictly fan, I felt like I did it for all the super fans out there
"Plus, I literally danced my toenails off (no joke, I only have 3 toenails left… the poor lady in the nail shop the other day)."

Zara's comments in March 2024 suggest that she was in hospital for the issue with her leg at the end of last year.
