Usually found doing crosswords and puzzles in her newspaper, Judith was left shocked during the first series when she believed she heard a gunshot coming from her neighbours garden in the sleepy village.

It leaves her utterly convinced that there has been a shock murder and so reports what she knows to the authorities.

Across the show, viewers saw how the police were reluctant to believe Judith and it is only thanks to chance encounters that she eventually meets other people who help her to get her thoughts heard.

Judith meets local dog-walker, Suzie, played by Holby City and Doctor Who star Jo Martin.

As well as local housewife Becks, played by Cara Horgan, the trio become their own investigators and set about finding evidence for the crime.

Eventually, the police recognise their efforts and hire them as civilian advisers in order to help solve the case.
