CORONATION Street fans have been left begging for a character's return after they were forced to quit the cobbles overnight.
ITV viewers made their feelings known as they issued a slew of plea's to show bosses in the wake of the unexpected move.
Fans that tuned in to the show on Wednesday night were left rocked to see Dylan Wilson, played by Liam McCheyne, bundled into the back of a car by his mum Violet after his wayward behaviour.
Violet, played by Jenny Platt, reappeared on the show after 16 years after being left horrified to discover that Dylan was caught up in gang bullying and knife crime.
Violet only found out when Eileen called her to have a go for not being supportive of Dylan - and filled her in.
With Dylan pleading guilty in court for the knife crime, Violet told Sean that he had no excuse for not telling her and that he had failed as a parent.
