AN ANTIQUES Roadshow guest was open-mouthed after discovering that a designer dress she had purchased with her £30 bingo winnings is now worth hundreds of pounds.
BBC presenter Fiona Bruce and a group of experts, including Mark Hill, visited Swanage Pier in Dorset on the latest episode and helped many guests obtain accurate valuations on their beloved items.
During the episode, the Antiques Roadshow guest couldn't believe what she had heard after antique expert Mark revealed that the shiny gold Biba dress she had bought in 1971 was now worth a whopping amount.
The lady, who wasn’t looking to fork out millions from the dress, explained to the BBC expert: “I won £30 at the bingo, so the whole lot went on a Biba dress."
Impressed by the condition of the dress, Mark replied: "You must have felt like Shirley Bassey in this."
He added: "This is as wearable today as it was back then. It is exactly what people want at the moment.
