In tonight’s episode Ben insisted he was innocent of any crimes, swearing to his husband Callum.

The family began to worry but Ben told them it would be fine and he needed Ritchie to meet him at the station.

Later at the station Ben was cocky with the officer, telling her she’d be giving him a giant apology once it all got sorted.

But when solicitor Ritchie arrived, it soon became clear that Ben had done something.

The charges related to his trip to America last year when he went in a desperate attempt to get dying Lola Pearce onto a drugs trial, unsuccessfully.

It emerged that Ben’s credit cards had been blocked and instead of legally sorting it, he simply stole someone else’s card and spent thousands on hotel bills, car rental and a business class flight home.

He begged Ritchie to sort it but she told him he could face up to six years in an American prison for what he’d done.

She went to tell the Mitchells what Ben had done with the news sinking in that Ben was guilty.

It spiralled into a row as Callum, Phil and Jay all sniped at each other.

But surprisingly Lexi took control and ignored Jay telling her to go with Honey.

“Jay, I’m a Mitchell,” she said before turning to Ritchie and telling her: “We ain’t paying you to be quiet.”

The lawyer told them all: “Credit card fraud in America. He’s got a bail hearing tomorrow. The evidence is stacked pretty strong against him.”
