CORONATION street fans were left feeling confused over a major blunder after the ITV soap aired a shock exit for Summer Spellman.
The student - who is played by actress Harriet Bibby in the ITV soap - has been offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America.
Summer has struggled making a decision with her stepdad Paul Foreman’s impending death from motor neurone disease.
Viewers know Paul is planning to take his own life before his suffering gets too bad.
Lately Billy confided in Summer about Paul’s plan and how it has left him terrified.
It saw her change her mind about studying in America, and instead want to stay home to spend Paul’s final months with him.

However after having a full and frank conversation, Paul made Summer realise that she had to go and live her life.
He promised her that he wouldn’t end things before she got back and so she agreed to go.
She got into a cab and headed off to the airport to spend months living in America.
But viewers have called out a major blunder with it being spring break in America.

One fan wrote: "I find it odd that she is leaving in the end of March to go to a university in the US. It is nearing the end of spring semester in the US and Summer sessions don't start until June."
Another agreed: "I was wondering why she was going now. Spring break just started and then classes finish in May."
A third added: "I also thought it was very odd that not one of her friends was there to see her off."
A fourth accused Summer of lying about going to study in America saying: "Knowing Summer, she's faked the whole uni thing."
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
