POT POURRI, Rodders, did Del Boy really fight against the Nazis?
Hawk-eyed viewers of World War Two flick The Eagle Has Landed reckon he may have taken on Hitler.
The film tells the story of a team of Germans, led by Michael Caine’s character Colonel Steiner, who land in Norfolk in 1943 to capture Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
In the movie, watchers have spotted a yellow 1960s Reliant Regal motor, just like Trotter’s Independent Traders van in Only Fools And Horses, in shot as Larry Hagman’s character races his Jeep down a dusty road.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, movie fan Jon Betts asked: “I wonder if they ever noticed Del Boy’s van.”
But it is not the first period movie or TV show to be caught out by the modern day.

Braveheart
AS well as wearing kilts – which were not Scottish dress at the time of Robert the Bruce, King of Scots in the 1300s – Braveheart, starring Mel Gibson, also features a white modern-day car.
Indiana Jones
IN Raiders Of The Lost Ark, set in the 1930s, Indiana Jones, played by Harrison Ford, is mourning the “death” of his girlfriend Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen).
In the background next to the whisky bottle, viewers can spot a man wearing jeans and a T-shirt straight from 1981, when the first Indy film was made.

Game of Thrones
ON an episode of the final season of Game Of Thrones, a Starbucks coffee cup appeared on screen.
Seen on air beside Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, it was later digitally removed.
The series press team announced: “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered herbal tea.”
Glory
CIVIL War film Glory, made in 1989, won Denzel Washington an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actor category.

The modern hydraulic tank was used to create a special effect.
But it did not exist in ancient Rome, when the movie starring Russell Crowe is set.
Little Women
DIRECTOR Greta Gerwig’s movie Little Women is set in the 1860s but sharp-eyed viewers spotted a modern-looking water bottle behind Laurie, played by Timothée Chalamet.
It looks like an insulated Hydro Flask, not invented until 150 years later in 2009.
Poldark
CAPTAIN Ross Poldark, played by heartthrob Aidan Turner, returned to his native Cornwall after the American Revolutionary War in the 1780s – when humble fishermen’s homes definitely did NOT have burglar alarms to keep out ne’er-do-wells.
