But it won't be long until fans see actress Lorraine back in action.

She has started filming for 'gritty' British movie Departures, in which she plays Janet - the mother of main character Benji.

The film tells Benji's story as he returns to Amsterdam after having an affair with a married man there the year before.

Speakng of her new role, Lorraine said: "This film is an LGBTQ project about grief and loss of letting go of a toxic relationship.

"I was honoured to be offered the part of Janet, Benji’s mum, as I’ve worked with Lloyd Eyre-Morgan [co-director with Neil Ely] before and love his style of work.

"As you’ll see in the film, Janet has had a hard past and is trying to support her son throughout his journey in the best way she can - although she has old school mentality and can be very brash!"

Lorraine gave fans the first look at her new character last week with a sneak peek on Instagram.

Also starring in the movie is former Hollyoaks actor David Tag, and he'll be playing Benji's former love interest Luke.
