AMANDA Holden has admitted that she knows she’s not Simon’s favourite judge on Britain’s Got Talent- despite working with him for almost 20 years.
The duo have co-starred on BGT as judges since 2007, with Amanda currently the longest-standing panellist besides Simon himself.
With the line-up now completed by Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli, Amanda and Simon have remained tight friends.
After twisting the arm of Simon’s fianceé Lauren Silverman, the pair even have matching Cotswolds retreats so they can spend time with each other’s families on weekends.
So, it’s surprising that, despite all of this, Amanda has revealed she’s not Simon’s favourite person to work with.
“Oh no, Bruno’s his favourite,” Amanda told . “Definitely Bruno.”
She also hinted that she knows her job isn’t a guarantee every year – and if Simon decides to shake things up, she could be shown the door in future years.
She said, “It would be awkward but it doesn’t safeguard the job, because Simon isn’t frightened of change.
“Neither am I. I mean, I never expected to do this for 18 years, so I’d be sad, but I’d wish the next person very well.”
For the time being though, her job is safe, and she is returning to the screens for the new series of Britain’s Got Talent, which starts tonight on ITV.
Ant and Dec are back in business as the hosts of the annual talent show, with Amanda, Simon, Alesha and Bruno all on hand to deliver their verdicts, buzz people off, or give them the ticket of a lifetime with the golden buzzer.
During one episode, Simon’s nine-year-old son Eric, Alesha’s 11-year-old daughter Azura and Amanda’s 12-year-old daughter Hollie become unlikely stars of the show as they cause mischief backstage.
Amanda refers to them as the “Harry Potter trio” because they are so close but admits she thought one of their antics would result in her getting fired.
“I just thought this is the end of my seat on the show,” she said, adding she was “mortified” by what unfolded, adding Hollie is a “chip off the old block” and is likely to follow her into the limelight.
